My Story

Helen Moyes Designs

My great Aunt taught me to use a sewing machine when I was 7 years old

and then my mother bought me my own sewing machine, which I am still using today.

Trained in Applied Textiles, and as a teacher, stitch remained a hobby

until my children had grown and I was then able to move from formal adult education to

developing my own artwork and teaching informal, creative sessions.
I love to see creativity develop during my workshops, one to one coaching, or the use of my creative kits.

The main influences in my artwork are the natural environment, upcycling & experimentation with new textile materials.
